Here are simple instructions on how to use the thermometer:

1.) Hit the trigger button to turn on thermometer.

2.) Read the screen to see if it is on "C" for Celsius or "F" for fahrenheit.

3.) If "C" is showing then press first button down until it changes to "F"

4.) Next press first button once to change between "body" and "surface" you want to be on "body"

5.) The thermometer should save those settings unless you hit the first button again to change from body to surface, surface meaning drinks, any hard item that has a temperature.

6.) You should point the thermometer to a person's center forehead, and have the thermometer  between 1 to 1.5 inches from the forehead to get an accurate reading. Pull the trigger and you should get a reading in 1 second after beeps.

Normal body temperature varies by person, age, activity, and time of day. The average normal body temperature is generally accepted as 98.6°F (37°C). Some studies have shown that the "normal" body temperature can have a wide range, from 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C).

A temperature over 100.4°F (38°C) most often means you have a fever caused by an infection or illness.

Body temperature normally changes throughout the day.
